Geo Detective: guess the location

A free geo guessing game: a photo from somewhere in the world, a street corner, a village, a stretch of countryside. Which country is it? Read the clues in the scene, or unlock up to two hints. Like GeoGuessr, but free and with no sign-up needed to start.

How to play

Each practice has 20 countries and shows one photo from each, picked at random from places all over the country, so every replay is different. Type the country: a clean answer scores 3 points, the first clue (the region and capital) leaves 2, and the second (the letter pattern) leaves 1. Once you've answered, the answer is revealed and you can see exactly where the photo was taken, so every round is a little geography trivia lesson too.

Tips: look at which side of the road cars drive on, the alphabet on signs, the colour of road markings, the plants and the style of the houses. Want to practise your map skills instead? Try Map Detective or Flag Detective.
